The biggest pain point for travellers is not understanding how different each location is. Stay in the wrong spot, and you might be too far from the marina, too noisy at night, or paying more than necessary for facilities you’ll barely use.

My Airlie Beach Accommodation Options!
When it comes to choosing where to stay in Airlie Beach, I understand that budget plays a key role in the decision-making process. Secondly, location is one of my biggest factors. So, I’ve tried to include options below from the waterfront, Marina, central, and a short distance from town.

1. Magnums Airlie Beach (3 Star)
Magnams Airlie Beach is my first option for Budget accommodation in Airlie and one I was very impressed with when I stayed there. This backpacker’s haven is situated in the heart of Airlie’s main street and offers a range of accommodation options, including air-conditioned dorm rooms, twins, doubles, and ensuite cabins.

But that’s not all! You’ll also have access to shared kitchens, a BBQ area, laundry facilities, Wi-fi, and luggage storage. Not surprising, it’s adults only, and let’s not forget the bar and Live music options that back onto the town’s main street.
With its central location, the Lagoon and the Port of Airlie are just a short stroll away. Plus, heaps of choices between the tour desks to help book your daily excursions.

2. Whitsunday Waterfront Apartments (3 Star)
The Whitsunday Waterfront Apartments is situated just 2.3km from town in Cannonvale but does overlook the harbour. With free WiFi, you can stay connected while enjoying all the amenities this apartment offers, including an outdoor swimming pool, barbecue facilities, and a garden.

I find people stay in the Cannonvale district when they don’t want to be directly in town but still close by. Apartments are also handy too to save money and make your meals at home with the cooking facilities.

3. Coral Sea Vista Apartments (3 Star)
The Coral Sea Vista Apartments are just a short walk from the marina precinct and a leisurely stroll from the town’s bustling commercial centre. These boutique apartments offer the perfect balance of convenience and relaxation, with a cozy pool and BBQ area on site.

The Mantra Club Croc is worth considering and is one of the other places I’ve personally stayed at. Not only is it a stone’s throw away from the Whitsunday Shopping Centre, but it’s also situated close to the Whitsunday Marine Club and Coral Esplanade – making it easy to get around and explore.

The traditional Queenslander-style building adds character to the accommodation, while the contemporary interiors offer everything you need for a comfortable stay. The laid-back tropical vibe creates the perfect atmosphere, whether you’re here to relax or explore.
This is another option in the Cannonvale district, just a short distance from town. Conveniently, I found many of the tours allowed a hotel pickup here at Club Croc, so a brilliant option if you don’t have a car.

6. Coral Sea Resort at the Marina (4 Star)
The Coral Sea Resort is our option near the Coral Sea Marina and makes you feel like you have the best views in Airlie. Not only that, but it’s walking distance from town without feeling too close to it.

The rooms and suites boast a whitewashed interior and tasteful dashes of colour, and many overlook the beautiful ocean harbour. And for those seeking a boutique-style experience, I would recommend checking out the king rooms with a balcony.
You can picture yourself lounging by a stunning 25-meter outdoor pool, surrounded by palm trees and perfectly manicured lawns. The sun is shining down on you, warming your skin as you stretch out on one of the floaties in the pool.

7. Martinique Whitsundays (4 Star)
If your idea of the perfect vacation is lounging by an infinity pool while taking in spectacular ocean views, look no further than Martinique in Airlie Beach. I stayed in this Airlie beach accommodation several years ago, and I just loved the vibrant colours and private balcony.

As an avid traveler and frequently visited Airlie, I highly recommend visiting during the shoulder seasons of Autumn (March-May) and spring (September-November). During these months, the weather is mild, the crowds are thin, and the offseason rates make it an affordable getaway for every type of traveller.

Please don’t fret, as there are a number of ways to get to Airlie Beach including flights or trains to Proserpine, Public Bus transport and road tripping to the town itself (or a combination).
Of course, your options depend on your preference and budget. However, I always prefer to have a car available, whether that’s driving my own, or hiring a car when I get there. This gives me the flexibility to visit obscure sites, and on my own time schedule.
