Explore Australia
Welcome to Australia and the land down under! It’s the world’s sixth-largest country covering an area of 7.6 million square Kilometres, with a population of 24 million. There are six states (New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia & Tasmania) and three Territories (Northern Territory, Australian Capital Territory & Jervis bay Territory). The biggest cities are Sydney in NSW and Melbourne in VIC, with the nationals capital, Canberra, in the ACT.
It’s a multicultural country, which is reflected in the variations of food available. Equally important to the heritage of the indigenous Aboriginal people. Captain James Cook is credited with Australia’s first discovery in 1770, while the Dutch were known to have explored in the 1640s. Furthermore, it was first settled in January of 1788 as the first fleet sailed in Botany Bay. This was established as a penal colony but consequently phased out from 1852 to 1868.

Climate varies around the country, but known as the “Sunburnt” Country, and more on the warmer side. The southern states do get cold during the winter months but only snows in a few mountainous areas around June to August. Seasons are opposite to the Northern Hemisphere, with summer running from December to February.
You have a huge variety when exploring the country, from some of the best-looking beaches, dense rainforests, along with a whole lot of space in the outback. Whatever kind of vacation you’re after, you will be able to find something to enjoy or relax.
Some of your highlights are the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland and the Opera House. Alternatively, the Harbour Bridge in NSW, and the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. Alternatively, the Bay of Fires in Tasmania, Uluru(Ayers Rock) in the NT, Bungle Bungles in WA, and the Barossa Valley in SA.
