Explore Mexico

Mexico is located south of North America, shares a border with them, and in the south with Belize and Guatemala. The border with the USA is 3155 kilometres long and is the second largest in the world. Consequently, the country covers an area of 1.9 square kilometres and has a population of 125 million people. Spanish is your primary language, and the currency is the Mexican Peso.

As a tourist, you’ll find English is widely spoken, but it would always help you to understand Spanish. The Capital is Mexico City, with a population of more than 17 million people. There is plenty of Mexican food that’s been made famous all around the world. This includes guacamole, Tacos, enchiladas, and Nachos. In fact, you might be interested to know that Hot Chocolate was a popular drink for the Aztecs.

It’s is a prominent volcano and earthquake region named the Ring of Fire. Their highest peak is Pico de Orizaba, coming close to 5636 metres high (over 18 thousand feet). Additionally, containing one of the largest Cactus species in the world, which can measure up to 21 metres high and live up to 300 years old.

A few of the more famous highlights would be the Chichen Itza (Maya World Heritage Site), beaches at Acapulco, and cenotes around the Yucatan Peninsula. Along with various animals like jaguars, pumas, giant iguanas, whales, Whale Sharks, and manta rays. Additionally, the jungles are often explored for brightly coloured birds and plenty of Monkeys.

The Mexican people love their sports and take them very seriously. In fact, things like bullfighting and Rodeo (invented in Mexico), has entrants still putting their lives at risk by competing.
