Hotels or Accommodation
I find it has a wide selection of accommodation, from Budget Style to five star Luxury. I use Booking.com for my accommodation all over the world on a PC and through the convenient App. Additionally, if you sign up for an account, you can access instant savings with a Genius account and amazing discounts the more you book.
I tend to swap between Booking.com and Expedia when booking Hotels, depending on my location. This saves me from having to create separate logins for each individual hotel booking service. This is also conveniently maintained by a Phone App and allows me to carry my travel vouchers through a touch on my phone.
Agoda is an online Travel booking platform that specializes in affordable accommodation, flights, and airport transfers, particularly across Asia and the Pacific. Based in Singapore, Agoda is known for competitive pricing, and flash deals. Like others, it has flexible booking options, verified guest reviews, and a rewards program that helps save on future trips.
Hostelworld is the world’s largest online booking platform dedicated to hostels and budget accommodations. It lists over 36,000 properties across around 180 countries, offering stays ranging from dorms to private rooms Features like real-time availability, verified guest reviews, social tools.
Vrbo (Vacation Rentals by Owner) is a global platform that connects travellers with private holiday homes, apartments, and villas. Founded in the U.S., it’s ideal for families or groups looking for the comfort and privacy of an entire property, with no shared spaces. With listings in over 190 countries, Vrbo makes it easy to find unique stays.
Tours, Day Trips, Airport Shuttles and things to do
Are you looking for a huge selection of city and day tour options all over the world? Get Your Guide tours is your one stop marketplace for things to do and conveniently manage your vouchers through the Phone APP. Book anything from walking tours, island day trips, action/adventure and also cooking classes and much more!
You’ll find just as many options on Viator tours, as you will on GYG. However, depending on the operator, they will only third party through one or the other and it’s handy to sign up for both platforms and cover all options. This means, what I can’t find on GYG, I will generally see on Viator (and vise Versa).
Big Bus Tours is the world’s largest operator of open‑top hop‑on, hop‑off sightseeing buses, headquartered in London. Its active in 23 cities across four continents (including London, New York, Paris, Sydney, and Dubai). It offers flexible multi‑day bus passes with live or recorded commentary, often bundling in walking tours or river cruises.
Total Package Deals (Flights, Cars & Accommodation)
Expedia can take the worry out of booking your entire package holiday, which saves you having to deal with a Travel agent and can include hotels, flights and car hire to your next destination. You can pick and choose the deal you want and can often be way less time consuming and less stress by doing it yourself.
Car Rentals
I use Discover Cars as my car rental booking platform. It aggregates offers from major international brands like Hertz, Avis, Budget, Sixt, Europcar, as well as trusted local providers covering over 10,000 locations in more than 140 countries. It helps travellers compare deals, choose on both price and and save (typical savings are around 15%) on their car rentals.
Flights
Google Flights is a powerful tool that makes finding and booking flights easier than ever. With its intuitive interface, you can quickly compare prices, track fare changes, and explore the best travel dates for your destination. I tend to use this in planning mode to find out the best dates (or days) to travel and which airline to choose from.
Alternatively, I have used Expedia for Booking my Flights, since I can search, compare, and book flights (covering over 500 airlines). Plus, competitive pricing and bundle deals and saving up to 30% when bundling with hotels.
Other Travel Services
Airalo is a global eSIM marketplace launched in 2019, based in the U.S. with its operations in Singapore. It offers prepaid digital SIM plans for data (and in some cases voice/text) across more than 200 countries and regions. Travelers can purchase and install on a duel sim capable phone (no need for physical SIM cards or roaming charges).

Simplify your travel finances with the XE Currency Converter app on Apple or Android, It’s my go-to tool for real-time exchange rates in a new country. I effortlessly convert currencies, even offline, ensuring you make informed spending decisions wherever you are.
We stay connected to each other or family back home with WhatsApp on Apple or Android. Send messages, make voice and video calls, with one-on-one or Group Chats and effortlessly share media over the internet. Compared to texting, Whatsapp is cheaper using FREE Wi-Fi and you’re able to send larger file sizes.
