Explore Islands in Queensland
While Queensland is known for its coastal beaches, it’s also known for its many Islands. There are a total of 1955 islands in Queensland, but not all of them are inhabited or open for tourists. However, you are left with numerous options that will provide many opportunities for exploration.
There are Islands located off the entire coast of Queensland. Therefore, wherever you are, there are options to visit one of these beautiful places. This includes the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Rainbow Beach, Hervey Bay, Bundaberg, Yeppoon, Airlie Beach, Townsville, Mission Beach, and Cairns.
Choosing your best Islands to visit will need a few things to consider. Will you be travelling by your own means, or visiting with an organised tour? Do you own your own four-wheel drive? How much time do you have to explore? What kind of things do you like to do?

Each Island off the coast of Queensland holds unique experiences, like Local Australian animal experiences, aboriginal heritage, or being one of the largest sand islands in the world. Many will offer serviced Caravan Parks or some of the best beach camping sites. Alternatively, you’ll have some containing 5-star Resorts with relaxing luxury and convenient facilities.
If you visit any Islands in Australia, then your best options will be off the coast of Queensland.
