Explore Outback Queensland

Queensland is one of the biggest states in Australia, covering an area of 1.8 million square kilometres. While the coast is more frequently explored, the Queensland Outback holds special and unique adventures and a raw arid lifestyle. While it could take months to road trip the outback, you’ll enjoy taking it slow and concentrating on specific areas.

The high season for this area will run around April to October each year, through the winter. Outside this time has the hottest temperatures, which are very humid and less appealing to travellers. The general facilities, tour operators, and places to stay will also be limited at this time, so please consider that.

Compared to the rest of Australia, Outback Queensland’s biggest drawcards would be the Dinosaur Trail. Obviously, this entails visiting the local’s towns that have discovered evidence (bones or fossils) of Dinosaurs roaming the area millions of years ago. This includes Richmond, Winton, Hughenden, and Eromanga.
